Proposal: Black and White + One.

My proposal for the black and white + one project is that I'm going go downtown to the legal alleys to photograph the artwork that is on the walls then import the images to photoshop to alter the appearance of the image and to give it more meaning.

I intend to Isolate a single colour/segment of the art that has the most meaning in the and leave the colour in it and maybe change the colours while making the rest of the colours black and white. I also intend on including a hooded person in front of the mural as if they were looking at it and studying it.

The piece is going to represent that art isn't just in the in the galleries but it is everywhere and graffiti is art too. The person looking at the piece will show a sense of irony because these photos will be in a gallery.

Living Movie Stills

This gif is from the movie 2 Fast 2 Furious, a street racing movie. The gif is of Michael Ealy's character "Slap Jack" using nitrous while in the final stretch of a street race. The quote I chose is a quote from Paul Walker and it says "When I die I want to be doing something I love." The reason I picked this quote was because he loved to drive and be in fast cars so I thought it would fit with the clip.

Sense of Place

I started with finding out what sense of place which to me means a place where I feel at home. Being with friends and family would be my sense of place. After that I figured out what I was going to do to show sense of place and I came up with the idea of a collage. After I got my ideas down I went to work and started finding pictures with me and either friends or family. As for the idea of doing a collage I chose it because I enjoy working with pictures and finding a way to make many small pictures into one big picture to tell a story. My thought process through out the entire project was to make sure I found pictures that showed I was part of a family and just to make it clear that my sense of place is being with my family and friends and feeling safe and at home.

Vader VS. Obi-Wan The Final Battle Sounds

I cannot count the amount of different sounds that are used in this scene but there are a lot. Some of the things I was able to hear were the music, the dialogue, the sound effects of the actual battle between Obi-Wan and Vader, and the sounds of changing environment that they are in.

The music used during the scene is tailored to the scene and has a dramatic mood to it to give it the feel that only one person will emerge in the and it may not be the person you think it's going to be. The music is fast paced which helps make it so dramatic.

The dialogue is clear and added after the fact and blended with the sound effects and music so it sounds nice but it isn't louder or quieter than everything else. Because they used a green screen they didn't have to remove much background noise from the filming environment and it was easier to record the audio. Also i highly doubt they'd film in an actual volcano.

The sound effects they've used were created by a Foley meaning someone has got things like sheets of aluminum to create the sound of thunder for example. They created the sounds of lightsabers hitting each other and them being activated as well of the sounds of the kicks. As for the other sounds like the surroundings falling apart and exploding they have a sound library of sounds like explosions and mechanical sounds that they were able to use.

The sounds and music are blended very well and do a good job at portraying a dramatic and realistic scene as far as a sci-fi scene gose for being realistic.
