Snake's Castle

This is a picture of a chess piece I drew in CyberARTS.

The chess piece was an assignment we were given. The assignment said we had to draw a chess piece with value (shadows and what not), proportion and realism. It also needed to include a back ground the displayed movement, rhythm, or pattern.
I found a nice spot to place my chess piece to start with. Then I need to make sure I had the right paper and pencil. After I got all of that sorted out i began to draw my chess piece. To add value I had to give it shadows. To do so I used a light that was already set up next to me. By far the shading was the hardest part because I need to to get the shadows just right and by that i mean in the correct spots and the correct darkness of the shadow.

The background was fun. For the I decided to draw a snake. I chose the snake because of the of the pattern it has in its scales. I placed the chess piece in the centre of the snake so the viewers eye would be drawn to it.

My Logo.

These are my logos for the logo assignment one is in black and white and the other is in orange and black.

To get ideas for my logo, I researched my name. It means God like, He who supplants, and Son of Lord.   The words that describe meanings that I came up with is power, kind, caring, and giving. The word I used for my logo was power.

The brain storming I did led me to several thing like wings, a halo, power symbol for electronics, a fist, and a power outlet. The image I chose was the fist with a power button and outlet. It shows the adjective power three ways. One is the ability to turn stuff on and off. As if giving life or taking life away from objects inanimate or not like god because my name means who is like god.

The components of my logo are the coulours which are orange and black, the fist, the power button, the power outlet, and my name. I chose the coulours orange and black because i like the two colours and I think they got together quite nicely.  The lines in my logo are smooth. The smoothness represents power the same way when you see Lamborghini you think of power and smoothness. I also had edges that stuck out that also represents power in being rebellious and rebels can have the power to be strong and powerful.

Something I want to try

EPIC!! :D

Imitationalism and emotionalism

Imitationalism and emotionalism
 Imitationalism

"Composition in Red, Blue, and Yellow" by Piet Mondroin is a poor piece of artwork in terms of imitationalism. It is depicting something you would not see in your everyday life. So if I were walking down the street I would not see something like this just floating around or something. The only place i can think of seeing it is if I go down to the subway stop near Cloverdale mall and I do not go there everyday.
Emotionalism

To me "Composition in Red, Blue, and Yellow" doesn't really have any emotion attached to it. Although if I needed to pick one I would have to it would be seriousness with a bit of laid backness. It seems like something that in would do if I was bored and had the urge to draw or colour.

Formalism

The artist used lines and blocks to illustrate mediocrity of them and then use simple colours here and there to make it a bit livelier. I think they also used to colour to keep peoples attention focused on his piece of art. The use of red, blue, and yellow were to make the work a bit more abstract but not too abstract. Well in my mind at least.

Stop motion koolness.

This is a kool little animation that I found and I really want that tree :D

Rhythmic Line.

These are my final copies of my rhythmic lines:

For this assignment we had to creative rhythm in and with lines.

For the first picture I decide to create rhythm by playing with the width and length of the lines. I started off with a thick short line near the top of the page and then the line that followed was a thin long line that was twice the length of the first one. The next line was the same as the first one but instead of starting near the top of the paper it started at the bottom of the second line in the series and went to the mid way point on that line. After that I just repeated the pattern and end with the same line I started with.

The next picture we had to have lines that showed direction. I showed direction by basically taking my first picture cloning it and rotating the clones. To add to it I added a little bit of something in the middle to make it look fuller and show more direction by adding to circles with gaps in them and also adding a line with two crinkles in it.

Andy Warhol

So Andy Warhol.... yea the kool guy with the funky hair and sense of style lead a pretty awesome life hanging out with all those celebrities and such. Man that idea that he had to paint the every day items like brillio and Campbells soup can was intense. I wish I could meet him and be part of his art, that would be one of the koolest things to do ever!!!!! Man he would have to be one of my favourite artists but it isn't really hard to decide that seeing that I only really know of five artists.

Damn that's some nice art work there.

Ps. I know that i spelt "cool" with a k and that is how I roll.
